David Sterckx Rally Sport team, fresh off their Super Production win at the Oregon Trail Rally earlier this month, will have a new sponsor joining them when they compete at the Waste Management Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally® next weekend.

Driver David Sterckx, a native of Belgium, and co-driver Karen Jankowski, San Marcos, Calif., and the team welcome Ardeca Lubricants. The Belgium company recently launched its products in the U.S. market. Since Sterckx is also from Belgium and, like Ardeca, a relative newcomer to the U.S. racing scene, the collaboration has a great synergy.

Sterckx was asked to drive the Ardeca Lubricant- sponsored Mitsubishi Evo at the first round of the Rally America Rallycross Championship at New Jersey Motorsports Park in May. Although it was his first Rallycross event, he proved to be a natural, winning the 4WD Limited class.

“It was so great to win my very first Rallycross event and even better to be able to do it with Ardeca Lubricants,” Sterckx said. “I hope I will be able to do a lot more of these types of events in the future.”

As a result of their successful first outing, Ardeca Lubricants has decided to join the team in the rest of the Rally America rally championship events this season.

STPR® is known to have very fast roads that can also prove to be very tricky. Rally legend Doug Shepherd will be joining the team for STPR® to assist with tire strategy and service. Having won this event many times, Shepherd will be a great asset to the team.

“STPR® roads are some of the fastest most technical ones in the championship. This event is always a tough one on cars and teams so attrition is always high,” Jankowski said.  “The points battle for the Super Production championship is so close especially for the top three of Hanson, O’Sullivan, and our team all separated by just three points. Plus Ramana Langaman has entered and is consistently in the top three overall here so it will be one heck of a fight!”
